About Our Team
CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER
Ahmed Jaber
Ahmed Jaber, Founder and CIO of ARO Asset Management, leads strategic investment initiatives, utilizing his extensive expertise to enhance client investment portfolios. He closely oversees regional asset allocation in emerging and frontier markets, identifying lucrative opportunities aligned with client mandates and devising investment strategies. He played a pivotal role in establishing the company, driving the creation of a proprietary investment research platform integrating Big Data and Machine Learning (ML) into investment research. With over 15 years of experience in Asset Management, holding executive roles across various departments, Ahmed possesses a strong grasp of Portfolio and Investment Management, particularly in Equity Capital Markets within Emerging & Frontier Markets. He earned his BSBA in Finance and Management Information Systems from the American University of Sharjah, UAE, and also holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
HEAD OF COMPLIANCE
Michael Berclaz
Michael Berclaz is the head of Compliance at ARO Asset Management, overseeing the regulatory integrity of its operation. With a Master’s in Swiss Law and a Compliance Management CAS, he boasts over two decades of extensive experience within the Financial Service sector. His tenure includes pivotal roles in Project Management and Senior Compliance across well established banking institutions in Geneva, Monaco, Luxembourg, Lisbon, and Paris, notably with Lloyds TSB, Hyposwiss Private Bank, BNP Paribas, Société Générale, and EFG. Berclaz specializes in Compliance frameworks, international sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Tax compliance.
Chief Business Development Officer
Mohamed Jaber
Mohamed Jaber is the Chief Business Development Officer. Mohamed joined ARO in November 2022. M.Jaber has more than 15 years of experiences across multiple placements and projects, including investment advisory, business development and restructuring. Mohamed has worked closely with family offices, and large institutions to identify investment opportunities, and lead value generating investment projects. He holds a BSBA with a major in Finance from the American University of Sharjah (U.A.E), and has completed several financial related courses from the University of Geneva (Switzerland). He has a solid understanding of the investment landscape in the EU and MENA region.
SENIOR RISK OFFICER
Ranjan Bhalla
Ranjan Bhalla is the Senior Risk Manager at ARO Asset Management. Bhalla is an experienced and recognized risk manager in the field of asset management and commodities trading. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Brown University in the United States. Bhalla has held a number of senior positions in the risk function of major global commodities trading companies based in Switzerland (Cargill, Koch and Bunge) and has also dealt with compliance and regulatory issues, including projects to assess the impact of new European and Swiss regulations on market operations and to train EMEA employees to ensure compliance.
